You’ve only got one you – and that’s why it’s so important to look after yourself!
While self-care may conjure up images of spa days and pampering, the best kinds of self-care are the simple things you can do regularly. It is the daily pick-me-ups that keep us going, especially while navigating what can be a long and lonely fertility journey.
When so much can seem beyond your control when trying to conceive, it’s important to try to incorporate a few self-care routines each day. The following 6 suggestions will help you take control while boosting your mood and health:-
💦 Drink a glass of water when you wake up
Drinking water shortly after waking is a good way to quickly rehydrate your body and maintain optimal brain activity.
✍️ Make a menu for the week
Eating well is easy once you’re prepared – and that’s why scheduling and pre-planning your meals can stop the impulse of buying processed and take-away foods.
😃Do something for your mental wellbeing
Whether it’s attending a yoga class or taking the time to practice some meditation and relaxation, be sure to take some time out to focus on yourself and your breathing.
💃Have a mini-dance party!
Life can often be too serious, so it’s important to factor in some fun! Take time out with friends to blast some music and have a boogie in your living room.
😅 Get active
It doesn’t matter if it’s a solid gym session, a jog or a lunchtime stroll, just be sure to move for at least 30 minutes. Raising your heart rate is beneficial for both your mental and physical health.
🌈 Look after your gut!
At Nua, obviously we’re passionate about the git – so why not show your gut bugs some love by introducing 5 new colourful foods a day (if you missed our ‘Eat a Rainbow’ post, why not check it out here and don’t forget to follow us)
These are just our suggestions. But what about YOU? What do you do for your daily self-care routine?
